Doesn't this look like a scene from E.T.? I don't know how the weird blue light effect was managed. Did you take this, Logan? Or was it Tommy?

That's better. Isn't that cute? It's my phone wallpaper. Believe it or not, that's what I got when I told him to smile. (One of the times when I told him to smile when I was in Arizona in August--many of them were cheesy.)

This is what I saw when I woke up one morning in James' room--he was patiently waiting for me to take him out of bed, complete with binky and blankies.


Matthew took the next few. He was fascinated by my camera phone and I let him play with it. When I got back and looked at my pictures I discovered he had taken quite a few--mostly of high-excitement subjects like the carpet, toilets, and electrical outlets.

On Sept. 16, the Friday before Audrey was born, I went to the Gap and saw these and thought, "It's a sign that she'll be named Audrey!" So I documented the historic moment and now I have proof that I knew what her name was going to be-- although I was already pretty sure. :) Hello Audrey!
Oh, sidenote: the Audrey picture also reminded me of Kaci, so I made it her caller ID picture on my phone. Cute, huh? :)

This was the same day, after the night we had the fort sleepover and it snowed--kind of (Sept. 15).



Logan was being goofy, as usual. That's a nice closeup of a classic smile. (Not to mention the eyebrows.) This picture says, "Hi, I'm Logan. Can you and I be friends?"

I don't know what Logan did, but it looks weird. This picture is somewhere in between a smile and a mad dog face, except you can't see the mouth. It says, "Hi, I'm Logan. Take me away in your spaceship."
I don't know what kind of a face that is. No wait--I do. It's a Logan face that says, "I'm acting weird and am just begging for a tickle attack."

My friend Sherra and I got bored in our HEPE class. Maybe that was the day the teacher showed some really gross injuries on video. We didn't need to see that.



As my friend Stephanie and I were walking to Merrill Hall to deliver our Preference-asking objects, we came across these delightfully large and crunchy leaves that didn't make it to our side of Helaman. We had fun jumping in them and she told me to take a picture of this car.








I think this guy looks like Josh Thatcher.

And I think this girl's hair looks like a bactrian camel. I couldn't resist. Actually, I've seen it a lot higher than this.

BYU vs UNLV 10/21

Kristin and I went to homecoming and it was our first BYU football game! The action on the field during the first half was quite thrilling but our location was not. The sun was in our eyes and we got a little fried. At halftime we went to the other end zone and found Tommy & co. Pictures from the second half are coming soon to Tommy's blog.

RS picnic

Between conference sessions on Saturday, my Relief Society had a little picnic. Some girls were spending the weekend with family or friends so we didn't get a big turnout, but it was still good bonding time. That was back on October 1 when we didn't know each other very well.

Top 10 reasons BYU will beat Utah

As the biggest game of the year approaches, Cougar fans weighed in on the inevitable victory to be secured over the Utes. Here are the top 10 reasons BYU will bring tears to the eyes of every Utah player and fan this Thanksgiving weekend.
10. "We use good, high-quality BYU Creamery shakes to bulk up our offensive line," said Jenny Tanner, BYU alumna.
9. "The testing center has trained our athletes to excel in high stress/close contact situations," Tanner said.
8. "Rumor has it that Classic Coke could make an appearance at the victory party," she added.
7. "We wrap our statues in cellophane," said Carolyn Hanson, BYU theatre and media arts faculty member.
6. "Our band plays the hottest hits of 10 years ago and intimidating Primary songs," said Matt Stringham, club president of BYU Divine Comedy.

Arizona Adventure

Playing in the backyard. I told Matthew to smile and this is what I got.

Sleepover!

The chickas and I had a sleepover in the floor lounge two months ago. We made a fort out of the nappy BYU-issued brown blankets.

It was tough...some of us almost went crazy...(that's Alex almost going crazy)

Finally we decided to enlist the help of the vacuum...(that's Alicia)

One Sunday night we returned from our floor meeting to discover our toilet looked like this, and sounded much worse. It wouldn't stop flushing and it was SO loud. We were so loopy that we couldn't stop laughing about it for the next hour and a half until we finally got a maintenance guy to come fix it. It was the angriest-sounding toilet I've ever heard.

Fast Forward

I decided to try to post something every day until I get caught up, but I just discovered I can't add pictures on my computer. So instead I will briefly sum up the exciting things I've done in the past few months that I don't have pictures of.
*attended a big regional conference in the Marriott Center with Pres. Monson and Elder Wirthlin, firesides with Elder Eyring and Bishop McMullin, and devotionals with Pres. Hinckley and Pres. Monson (I love BYU!)
*went to Provo, Mt. Timpanogos and Salt Lake temples
*rocked Heritage on Margarita Monday
*single-handedly rocked a Halloween dance that started lame (okay, not single-handedly, but almost)
*trick-or-treated as a cowgirl--yeehaw!
*built a blanket fort in the floor lounge, slept there with my amigas, and watched the hail/sleet in the morning
*had another sleepover in the lounge and watched conference in the morning
*bonded with my RS sisters at a picnic between conference sessions (the weather was gorgeous)
*made dinner in the basement for my friend Alicia's birthday, stayed up all night watching movies--real movies and home movies of my friend Alex and her friends doing an OK GO dance and making a cartoon show--and watched conference in the morning (and I'm the only one who made it through the whole thing awake)
*went to the dollar movies several times, once with my RS
*decorated a door in our hall as part of our door-decorating swap
*squashed it with Tommy, Doris, Nicole, and Heather at our game parties
*cheered myself hoarse at two football games
*asked a boy in my ward to Preference with a water bottle
*partied at Heritage until the party got busted (that sounds bad, but it wasn't)
*rejoiced on hearing the news of Lewisville's victory over Marcus and hung signs and my Farmers jersey outside my door, much to the annoyance of my friend Jesika who lives down the hall and went to Marcus, and much to the confusion of everyone else besides Kristin
*helped keep Pumpkins 1&2 out of trouble while Andra was suffering from limited mobility
*frolicked on the beaches of Oregon (you all know about that and have seen pictures I think but I like the word "frolicked" so I put it anyway)
*enjoyed themed "holidays" at the CANC like Chocolate Day, French Day, Rhapsody in Blue Night, and Pirates of the Cannonbean Night.
*walked and played in some snow!

Sam Hawk

In July, one of my then-roommates, Hope, treated us to dinner at Sam Hawk, a Korean restaurant she'd heard a lot about and wanted to try. It was so good. We all ate like it was Thanksgiving and I could barely walk home. I didn't like everything--like the kim chi, for example--but overall it was delish.
