Proof

It snowed yesterday for like 3 hours. And was b's cold. Remember Dante's lowest level, Kaci?

I thought it was supposed to be spring. Looks like winter to me.

Conference

I got to go to the Saturday afternoon session of general conference! It wasn't in the Conference Center, but it was still totally rad.

Take me out to the ball game

I've been to several baseball games this spring. Some shots from the last one:

I was going for more scary than she was...

No, they're not text messaging. They're trying to figure out the speed of the ball.

Easter

I sang and played in our sacrament meeting Easter program, which was amazing. In case you get excited about these things like I do and want to know, here's what we sang. There were four choir numbers--Sing Noel, Love One Another, This is the Christ, and Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing. There was also an octet that sang a pretty song called Sing Me to Heaven, a women-only quartet who sang their own version of Joseph Smith's First Prayer (both of which were a cappella), and a flute-violin-piano arrangement of Lord, I Would Follow Thee (that was me). Our choir director (who happens to be Steve Dunford's nephew) and the bishopric were very moved.
That afternoon Kristin, Natalie, Steph, Candice, Jacqueline & I all went to Steph's sister and brother-in-law's place. We decorated cookies, dyed eggs, ate egg salad sandwiches with all the extra eggs, and played Celebrity (which is like Taboo but with famous people or characters). Way fun. We got sent home with lots of eggs.

Hanging out in the basement after church. They were so matchy-matchy! Too bad Candice didn't smile.

Once we discovered we had a blonde, a brunette, and a redhead, they had to do a Charlie's Angels pose.

The computer chip cookie!

Can you tell which hand is mine? :)

The whole gang!

In honor of Emma the Egg, we made a more colorful version which we appropriately named Little Emma.

Emma the Egg

On the spring equinox you can supposedly balance an egg on its end. I had never heard of this but my friends Steph and Candice remembered learning it in elementary school and were uber excited to try it (later on we looked it up and it turns out it's not true, but we just pretended and didn't let it spoil our fun). So we bought an egg and after many failed attempts, balanced it on the carpet and named it Emma in honor of our friend Emma the redhead, the only person in these pictures who's not in our ward.

Great shot of Emma, not so much of Steph and me.

After two weeks of Emma sitting on Candice's carpet, we decided she needed to be disposed of, but don't worry--we had a proper funeral and burial service. Everyone who was there when Emma came to be showed up to pay their respects. Here we all are mourning: Jacqueline, Steph, me, James, Emma, and Natalie (Candice is taking the picture).

A moment of silence for our dearly departed.

Emma in the casket that was lovingly prepared by Candice, who had the original idea for Emma, and named her.

The funeral procession--I love that Steph, in front, is wearing her high school swim & dive shirt, and that some of us are fighting smiles. In the background there are two girls sticking their heads our of their doors, wondering what in the world we're doing.

Candice asked me to deliver the eulogy. Unfortunately, it was punctuated by the sounds of boys playing basketball on the court right by the dumpster.

After a few more words of consolation, we said goodbye.

Final resting place. We loved you, Emma.

19!

Candice's birthday was Feb. 18 and she went home for Pres Day weekend so Steph and I heart attacked her door and room before she left.

Kristin's birthday was March 7 and she had an orchestra concert that night so we all went. And while we waited for her after the concert...

Natalie, Candice, me, and Tom

Pretending to be asleep--don't know why.

Natalie, Candice, me and Steph

Being goofy. They matched so they thought they were cool.

Then we went to Cold Stone! Candice, me, Natalie, Tom, Kristin's brother Nate, and the girl of the hour herself!

I have no idea what we're doing but this is a funny picture.

Blowing out imaginary candles.

It was raining so Natalie took shelter before Kristin unlocked her car...

And I followed suit, except more creepily.

Mommy Candice
On my birthday, the girls kidnapped me and took me to Chuck E. Cheese's, which was way fun. Then we came back and ate ice cream cake and I opened my present! There are lots more good pictures of this exciting event but I have yet to lay my hands on them.

When we got home we discovered someone had left a toilet paper surprise over our adorably decorated door. I still don't know who it was, but I thought it was funny.

My birthday spoils! The little tube is princess bubbles (Molly, you would love it). That and the blue heart ring are from Chuck E. Cheese's. The Tootsie Pop is from my loving suitemates, the Raisinets *yum* are from Kevin Cangelosi (Coppell boy--there's a story behind that), the fruit leather is from Natalie who has a thing for fruit leather and buys it by the boxful, the blow dryer is from Kristin (my old one died--perfect timing!) and everything else is from the girls--Steph, Natalie, and Candice.

We were making fish faces at our post-Chuck E. Cheese's ice cream cake party.

A lovely pose with Orlando in the background.
